Other poison information resources on the Internet

A wealth of additional information on toxicology and poison prevention can be found by searching the Internet. Just remember that the credibility and scientific accuracy of any web site's content depends entirely upon the creators of the site. Caveat emptor !

REMEMBER: if you suspect that someone has been exposed to a potentially harmful or poisonous substance, the FIRST action you should take is an immediate call to your regional poison control center. All over the United States, the number is 1 (800) 222-1222. When you dial this number, your call is automatically directed to the closest poison center for FAST access to emergency help!

Here are just a few internet sites that offer a variety of information. The Virginia Poison Center does not sponsor, review or certify any of these sites
